The following wedding announcement appeared in the Stevens Point Daily Journal, Stevens Point, Portage Co, WI, on 21 October 1935:

Announcement is made of the marriage of Miss Regina T. Kirschling, daughter of Mrs. Martha V. Kirschling of the town of Stockton, and Clayton M. Ostrowski of Stevens Point, son of Mrs. Eleanor Wiza of Rosholt. The ceremony was performed Wednesday morning, October 9, at the Sacred Heart church at Polonia by Rev. Leo Jankowski. Roses, chrysanthemums, lights and ferns decorated the altar. A white carpet was spread down the church aisle for the bridal party. The bride was attired in a white velvet gown with a high neckline, long puffed sleeves, a Spanish lace jacket and a gored skirt with a train of the white velvet three and one-half feet long. Her veil edged with wide lace, was six feet long, and fell from a braided white velvet turban, and she carried Johanna Hill roses, sweet peas and lace fern. She was given in marriage by her uncle, Nick Kirschling of Hibbing, Minnesota. Two cousins of the bride were her attendants, Miss Esther Jurgella of Stevens Point, who was maid of honor, and Miss Marie Kirschling of Wisconsin Rapids. They were dressed alike in blue velvet gowns made with high shirred necklines, elbow-length puffed sleeves and princess style long skirts, and they wore white velvet turbans and carried salmon pink roses. Edward M. Kirschling, brother of the bride, was best man. The ushers were Roman Kirschling, the bride's cousin, from Wisconsin Rapids, and Frank Kirschling, another brother of the bride. A reception was held at the home of the bride's mother, and breakfast, luncheon and dinner were served. After the ceremony at the church the bride and groom were surprised by the appearance of Stanley Kirschling, the bride's brother, dressed as a negro coachman, who escorted them to a 1902 model buggy, owned by Andrew Zblewski, still in good condition and decorated with streamers of pink, blue and white, in which they were driven to the home of the bride. A team of decorated horses pulled the buggy. The surprise was planned by Stanley Kirschling and Chester Netzel, the bride's brother-in-law. The home was decorated with pink and white streamers and pink roses and ferns.
